SML PGR RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FUND

Guidance notes:
The SML allocates funds to support Research and Scholarship activities up to a maximum of £175
per year for fully-registered PhD or MLitt students who are funded and within their minimum candidature.
For self-funded students who are within their minimum candidature, the support fund is £250 per
year. Students who are in pending submission are not normally eligible to apply for funding.
These funds can be used for:
• Gaining access to relevant resources, including interviewing subjects.
• Attending conferences. Students will be expected to demonstrate how this will
contribute to their doctoral research. If a paper is being given at the conference you
must upload a copy of the conference programme.
• Interlibrary loans.

If you are travelling outside the UK please upload a copy of your Travel Risk Assessment form which has been signed by your supervisor. Risk Assessment forms and guidance can be obtained from the Safety Office Website.
Data Protection Statement

Data will be securely stored on University systems. Only the Research Administrator and Research Committee will have access to data. Data will be retained in line with the University finance policy and will be used to administer school funds only.
