En-ROADS Climate Workshops @ Newcastle University

This form will be used to register your interest in an En-ROADS Climate Workshop facilitated by researchers in Planning at Newcastle University.

In the workshop, participants will interact will test and provide feedback on the cutting-edge climate simulation tool developed by Climate Interactive with collaborators MIT Sloan. The research team will work with participants to trial proposed climate solutions such as energy efficiency, carbon pricing, fossil fuel taxes, reducing deforestation, and carbon removal to instantly see the impact on global temperature and other factors. En-Roads tool has been run for the U.S. Congress, the Energy Transition Forum in London, HSBC bank, and the UN Secretary General's Office. We are looking to explore its applicability to local and regional decision-making contexts facing planners and decision-makers in the planning profession.

Workshop participants will leave with an understanding of how to access and use freely available online En-ROADS tool, and how it can contribute and influence local-scale planning and strategic plans for climate change mitigation. The outcomes of the model will be based on your own local contexts and experiences, as well as discussions with other planners and decision-makers across the North of England.

Participants do not need to have any prior knowledge of climate change. Refreshments will be provided and travel reimbursements will be arranged by the research team following attendance of the workshop - please note original receipt(s) will need to be provided. Breakfast orders will be taken from all sign-ups before Monday 3rd February.
