PhD Workshop: Digital Methods & Publishing your Research

PhD Workshop: Digital Methods & Publishing your Research

We are pleased to announce a call for applications for our PhD workshop on 8th September 2021, 9:00 – Midday, as part of the UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference 2021. Over two sessions the workshop will explore two subjects we hope will benefit you during your PhD: new approaches to research though digital methods and publishing your PhD research.

The first session—exploring the use of digital methods in the social sciences—will encourage you to discuss and share your experiences of (or thoughts on) using digital approaches in your research. We’ll develop a series of workshop activities to guide these discussions.

The second part—on academic publishing—will be a series of short presentations and a panel discussion from people involved in academic publishing. The presentations will explore the tips and tricks, including academic paper writing, submitting and review procedures, picking the right journal, responding to reviews, and academic book publishing.

Submit your Expression of Interest by 23:59 on 30th July

If you have any questions about the session, please do get in touch with Ali (ali.madani@ncl.ac.uk) and/or Zander (alexander.wilson@ncl.ac.uk).
